Terms of service
The agreement between you and E&L Cleaning Solutions when you book a clean. Last updated 31 August 2026.
01Quotes and pricing
For residential work we quote a flat price per visit before you book, based on the service and the size of the property. That price includes labour, supplies and New Jersey sales tax. It does not change when the crew arrives.
Commercial work is quoted after a walkthrough and billed on the terms in your written proposal, plus New Jersey sales tax at 6.625%.
Specialist floor treatment — machine scrubbing, strip and wax, carpet extraction — starts at $150 and is quoted on the floor, separately from routine service.
Two add-ons are priced by condition rather than flat: inside the oven and inside the refrigerator. The listed price is a starting point. If the appliance is heavily built up we will tell you what it will actually cost and get your agreement before touching it — never afterwards on the invoice.
If a property turns out to be in a condition well beyond what was described — heavy build-up, hoarding, construction debris, biohazard — we will tell you and re-quote before starting, not after. You are free to decline at that point at no cost.
Prices shown on this website and quoted by the booking assistant are estimates for standard conditions. Commercial and post-construction work is quoted after a walkthrough.
02Booking and access
A booking is confirmed once we reply to confirm it, not when you submit the form. We will confirm by text during business hours, Mon–Sat 8am–7pm.
You choose how the crew gets in: be home, give a door or lockbox code, leave a key, or leave it with a concierge. If the crew cannot get in on the day and we were not told at least 24 hours ahead, we may charge for the visit.
03Rescheduling and cancellation
Give us 24 hours’ notice and you can move or cancel a visit at no charge. Less than that, and we may charge for the visit, because the slot and the crew were held for you.
Recurring plans can be cancelled at any time with notice before your next scheduled visit. There is no lock-in.
04Our guarantee
If any part of the clean is not right, tell us within 24 hours of the visit and we will come back and re-clean those areas at no charge. That is the whole guarantee — no forms and no argument.
The guarantee is a re-clean. It is not a refund, and it does not extend to work outside the scope you booked.
05What we clean, and what we don’t
Every service has a published scope. Anything outside it is an add-on, priced before we do it.
For safety and insurance reasons our crews do not:
- Move furniture or appliances heavier than roughly 35 lb.
- Work from ladders above two steps, or clean exterior windows above ground level.
- Handle biohazards, mould remediation, pest infestation, or animal waste.
- Clean inside cabinets or drawers that still have contents in them, unless agreed in advance.
Please put away cash, jewellery, medication and anything fragile or irreplaceable before a visit.
06Insurance and damage
We are licensed, bonded, and carry $2,000,000 in liability coverage. Every cleaner is background-checked.
If we damage something, tell us within 48 hours of the visit so we can look at it while the facts are fresh. We will repair or replace it, or make a fair settlement. We are not responsible for damage caused by items that were already broken, loose, worn or improperly fitted, or by normal wear on aged surfaces and finishes.
07Degreasing and kitchen equipment
Removing baked-on grease takes commercial degreasers, and those degreasers are strong by necessity. Some kitchen materials do not tolerate them.
By booking degreasing, oven, hood or commercial kitchen work you accept that we are not responsible for:
- Discoloration, dulling, etching or staining of aluminium, anodised, painted, powder-coated, plated or unsealed surfaces that react to alkaline degreasers.
- Damage to seals, gaskets, filters, decals, labels or adhesives that were already degraded by heat and grease.
- Damage from grease itself — softened, migrating or re-hardened grease, or grease that has already worked into a seam, bearing or electrical part before we arrived.
- Pre-existing damage that only becomes visible once the grease covering it is removed. Corrosion, pitting and burn-through are frequently found underneath heavy build-up; uncovering it is not the same as causing it.
If we can see that a surface is likely to react, we will tell you before we start and offer a gentler method, which usually means a longer job and a less complete result. If you would rather we did not use degreaser on a particular item, say so and we will leave it.
None of this excuses careless work. If a crew member damages something through negligence, that is on us and section 06 applies.
08Payment
Payment is due on completion of the visit unless we have agreed other terms in writing. Residential recurring plans are billed monthly.
For commercial accounts an invoice is issued when the visit is finished and payment is due the same day, unless the proposal says otherwise. If an account falls behind we may suspend service until it is brought current.
09Commercial contracts
Commercial work runs on a written agreement rather than these terms alone. Where the two differ, the signed agreement wins.
- Either party can end the agreement with 30 days’ written notice.
- Invoices are due on completion. Net 30 terms are available only where we service the premises five or more days a week, and Net 30 accounts may take 2% off an invoice paid in full within ten days.
- A past-due invoice carries a late charge of 5% of the unpaid balance (minimum $25) once, then 1.5% per month. Service may be suspended while an account is more than fifteen days past due.
- We supply the equipment and cleaning materials. The client supplies the consumables their building gets through — trash can liners, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitiser and gloves — unless the proposal says otherwise.
- Specialist floor treatment (machine scrubbing, strip and wax, carpet extraction) is scheduled and billed separately from the routine service.
- E&L Cleaning Solutions works as an independent contractor and carries its own liability, bonding and workers’ compensation cover.
10If something goes wrong between us
If a dispute comes up, both sides agree to try to settle it in good faith through mediation with a mediator we both accept, sharing the mediator’s cost, before either side goes to court.
11Hiring our crew
Please do not hire our cleaners directly. We invest in training, background checks and insurance, and a private arrangement leaves you with none of that cover. If you would like more hours from a particular crew, ask us and we will arrange it.
12Pets, children and belongings
Pets are welcome — tell us their names and anything the crew should know and we will work around them. If a pet is anxious around strangers or equipment, it is usually easier on everyone to keep them in a separate room during the visit.
13The booking assistant
The assistant on this site is an automated tool. It can price a clean and take a request, but it is not a person and it can be wrong. Nothing it says is a binding quote until we confirm it. If something matters, call or text (973) 326-0068 and speak to us.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
